Description

This baseball was signed by Sadbiel Delzine at the during his 2026 season with the Salem RidgeYaks.

Sadbiel is the #7 Prospect in the Red Sox organization, according to MLB Pipeline.

Here's what MLB Pipeline has to say about Sadbiel:

The $500,000 bonus the Red Sox paid Delzine represented the fifth-highest given to any pitcher in the 2025 international class and the most they had spent on an international arm since lavishing $750,001 on Chih-Jung Liu in 2019. The Venezuelan was trending up as he turned pro, impressing scouts with his combination of stuff, polish and projection. He worked just 9 1/3 innings in the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League during his pro debut, as the Red Sox were overly cautious and shut him down with a mild flexor strain.

Delzine has added at least 20 pounds to his 6-foot-5 frame since signing, and his fastball already has gone from sitting in the low 90s with a peak of 94 mph as an amateur to parking in the mid-90s and touching 98 during his brief debut. His size and high three-quarters arm slot allow him to stay on top of a pair of potential solid breaking balls, a low-80s curveball with downer break and a tight mid-80s slider. Assistant GM Eddie Romero said Delzine's tumbling mid-80s changeup was one of the most advanced the Red Sox have ever scouted on the international market.

Delzine's athleticism gives him much better body control than most large-framed teenage pitchers. He maintains a fluid delivery, provides consistent strikes and walked just one of the 39 batters he faced in the DSL. He'll have to stay healthy and will require time to develop but could pay off as a frontline starter.
