This bat was used and signed by Luke in 2025 during the Fredericksburg Nationals series vs the Salem Red Sox
Luke is the #8 prospect in the Nationals organization, according to MLB Pipeline.
Here's what MLB Pipeline has to say about Dickerson:
Dickerson had a senior year to remember in 2024, first helping Morris Knolls HS win a New Jersey state title in hockey in the winter and then tying Mike Trout's single-season homer record in the state with 18 in the spring. The Nationals selected Dickerson 44th overall in that year's Draft and coaxed him away from a Virginia commitment with a $3.8 million bonus, the largest handed out after the first round in the bonus pool era. After a brief stint in the Rookie-level Florida Complex League, Dickerson spent most of his age-19 season with Single-A Fredericksburg, hitting .204/.309/.319 with five homers and 21 steals in 83 games.
Dickerson's numbers are a good lesson in patience with prospects that have interesting raw tools. Despite his age and size at 5-foot-11, Dickerson topped out with an exit velocity around 112 mph in the Carolina League, a max that would fit in fine in the Majors already. His strength was something that interested scouts before the Draft, and more could be coming after he dealt with a wrist injury for at least part of '25. Dickerson can look stoic at the plate, starting with hands held high and limited movement, until he began a leg kick, and while his swing decisions were decent, he still missed on a few fastballs and sliders.
Dickerson will fly out of the box, putting pressure on the defense on even the most mundane ground balls, and if he could improve his angles off the bat (namely cut down on infield popups), he could test opponents even more with those wheels. He wasn't exactly a sure-handed defender at shortstop with the FredNats, and with Eli Willits coming, the Nationals will move Dickerson around to second base and the outfield to make use of his athleticism.
