Alternate jersey worn by Ethan Small during the 2021 season. Ethan Small was assigned to the Shuckers to begin the 2021 season and in his first start at MGM Park he authored the first five innings of Biloxi's first nine-inning no-hitter. After finishing May with a 4.24 ERA, Small kicked it into another gear in the month of June. He started the month by tossing 10.2 scoreless innings across two starts against the Montgomery Biscuits, allowing just three hits and striking out 19 batters, the most in the Minor Leagues for the week. He was named the Double-A South Pitcher of the Week for his performance. Small then tied the Shuckers' franchise record with 12 strikeouts across 6.2 innings on June 12 against Mississippi. In his final start with the Shuckers, Small hurled seven scoreless innings and allowed just three hits, one walk and registered nine strikeouts. The lefty was promoted to Triple-A Nashville, and despite a finger injury made nine appearances and pitched to a 2.06 ERA with the Sounds. All told, Small went 4-2 with a 1.98 ERA in 18 starts and was selected to the MLB All-Star Futures Game along with earning Brewers' Minor League Pitcher of the Month honors in June. He was named the Robin Yount Brewers' Minor League Pitcher of the Year for his performance during the season.
