Signed for $40,000 out of Venezuela in 2024, Azocar started to attract attention after gaining strength following his pro debut and crushing balls in Minor League Spring Training last year. The Red Sox sent him to the Rookie-level Florida Complex League, where he batted .385/.448/.558 in 15 games before earning a promotion to Single-A at age 18. He has some similarities to Justin Gonzales but struggled more against significantly older competition.

Azocar weighs closer to 195 pounds than his listed 168, and the added muscle allows him to produce higher velocities than most players his age. He generates plenty of bat speed from the right side of the plate and has the potential for at least 20-homer power once he matures as a hitter and learns to elevate balls more often. He chased too many non-fastballs in Single-A but showed the ability to do damage when he swung at strikes.

Azocar has solid speed, can flash plus run times and displays the aptitude to steal a few bases. After playing most of his first season in left field, he spent much of his second in center. He has good instincts and average range in center, but he profiles better in right field and has the solid arm strength necessary there.
