This jersey was worn by Jack Winnay during his 2025 season with the Salem Red Sox, including his PRO DEBUT and first professional hit, on August 2, 2025 vs the Lynchburg Hill Cats.
Jack is the #23 Prospect in the Red Sox organization, according to MLB Pipeline.
Here's what MLB Pipeline has to say about Jack:
Winnay slammed 35 homers in his final two seasons at Wake Forest, going undrafted as a sophomore-eligible in 2024 before turning pro as a 13th-rounder the following summer. He batted .321 in a 15-game pro debut in Single-A but didn't hit the ball with much authority. After the Red Sox helped him improve his bat speed and swing bath, he's driving more balls in the air to his pull side and showing more pop during his first full pro season.
Winnay has added 3-4 mph to his exit velocities in 2026 and is pulling the ball more than he did in his first taste of pro ball, allowing him to get more out of his solid raw power. He's doing more damage without compromising his approach, still making good swing decisions, hammering fastballs and hanging in against secondary pitches. His right-handed stroke can get uphill, so he'll have to prove he can catch up to quality fastballs up in the zone.
Because he lacks speed, Winnay offers no value on the bases and is limited defensively. A first baseman and corner fielder for the Demon Deacons, he has looked overmatched at third base in pro ball. He has good hands and average arm strength, but he doesn't have much range at the hot corner and is a better fit at first base.
